Battlefield Visualisation
Battlefield visualisation is where the officers are able to integrate IT technology that allows them to have a comprehensive view of the battlefield to reduce uncertainty, minimise risk and better deploy troops for combat.
Battlefield visualisation gives officers practice in strategizing their battle plans. This enables commanders to evaluate their decisions before issuing the commands that could possibly harm soldiers. These include 3D maps of terrain and areas that made affordable due to tools such as Google Earth and Google Sketchup. This enables military officials to view an area from multiple angles to determine the strategic positions or any potential problems.

Simulation Virtual Reality in the aspects of battlefield visualization, emergency preparation and virtual boot camp
Virtual Boot Camp
Military officials uses simulated environment to create realistic, immersive virtual scenarios to help soldiers simulate the various combat environments and situations. This helps the soldiers learn to face and get through various difficult environments and situations as well as familiarise themselves with the different enemy terrains that can be recreated to simulate the real terrain precisely.
Virtual reality also enables us to put soldiers in controlled, realistic and immersive environments that facilitate the familiarisation of the soldiers with various combat scenarios. The main focuses of virtual reality soldier training include squad based tactics and minimizing of friendly fire, programs which use equipment such as a head-mounted load-bearing display with a body motion tracker(commonly strapped to the soldier’s leg) and a wireless weapon controller that is compatible with the size, weight and shape of the actual military weapons.res]

Emergency Preparation
Virtual reality is also useful to help train the soldiers for emergency situations during warfare. The soldiers can be trained also be trained periodically to ensure that they are familiar with the procedures that should be taken in each emergency situation.
Virtual reality can also be used by the military to prepare soldiers for emergencies. For example, the US Navy Research Laboratory uses their Virtual Environment Training Technology program which trains the soldiers’ responses to emergencies such as a fire on the deck.
